There is a tower just off of Old TownSquare in the city of the big council on every side is a clock face, but thewestern side is the largest and though it can't be seen from the ground. Ifyou look carefully above the eleventh hour, there is a little window. This isHansa's window. Hansa is a very brave field. Mousethough he is not from the city of the big castle, like his best friend Dash,he has made his home in the village of the tower mice. Wait said Hansa, I forgot to dosomething dash stood outside of Hans's home, herhands on her hips and her tail tapping against the ground. What did you forget? She called out. This responded Hanza yelling over his shoulder. I forgot todo this. Hansa stepped closer to the littlewindow at the end of his home. He peered down over the clock. Face on tothe street below the street was brimming with people. You know Hansa thought to himself. I'vealways wondered if any of those people can see me up here, he chuckled and then shook his head. Ofcourse they can't. He said out loud answering his own question. Of course they can't what asked Dashfrom behind him. She didn't wait out in the hall. Oh nothing. He said, thentaking hold of the curtains with both his hands. He closed them. He turned and looked over his home.Everything was put away where it went. His bed was made. Miss Maggie hadplaced flower petals all over the room on the table. The counter tops and hisfavorite reading chair. She told him that they would dry out and then putoff the most amazing smell. While he was gone, it would keep his homesmelling fresh. Are you ready, asked Ash Hansa just smiled and nodded? He pickedup his scavenging pack, which was a...

...good deal heavier than usual and slungit over his back to keep it snug. He tied a length of red ribbon from onestrap to the other across his chest. Let's do this said Hansa, the trip to the train station took notime at all. Hansa assumed, they'd, walk or perhaps flicker would fly them. No Mister Short tail informed him we'lltake the underground. You didn't know this, but those pipes run all over thecity. If we take the pipe leading back from the river, it goes straight to thestation and so Hansa and ash mister and missusshort tail dashes little brother Martin, as well as the Brown furs and theirchildren. Mister widdle and Miss Maggie all took turns climbing on to thewooden shells and sliding down the water pipes towards the train stationagain again, yelled Teddy Brown fur over and over when they had all arrived Hansa just smiled at teddy secretly. Hewanted to ride the underground pipe again too. Where is Mister Green askedMiss Maggie. I thought he was coming too he's going to meet us there. Isuggested to him that he hired Nellie the alley cat near the cafe to do somescrounging for him while we're away. He said he was going to work out thedetails with her and then would fly over with flicker said. Hansa hasMilton ever flown before asked missus short tail Milton asked Tonza missusshortall laughed, I mean Mister Green Hansa shook his head. No, but he saidhe was willing to try it. Mister short tails led the mice out ofthe underground area, up a spiral staircase as they reached the top. Theypushed through a small door that opened into the train station, which way do we go asked Hanza, both mister widdle and Mister Shorttail stepped towards the Front of the group to lead the way. However, bothbeing very polite mice, they tried to give the other mouse the honor, no, of course welter after you saidMister Short tail with a slight bow of his head. Don't be silly Jasper. You'veled us this far. You should take us all the way to the platform. That is true, replied, Mister Short tail. But it's been a very long time since I've beenhere and things may have changed, you ride the train more often than I, soyou should lead us. Finally, missus short tail interruptedat this rate. Hans and dash will miss...

...their train, then stepping forward she led the way. Now there are three ways to get fromthe underground area of the train station, which is near the above groundentrance to the platform. The first is to climb a hidden staircase in one ofthe walls to the rafter area, where the mail room is this route takes longer asa mouse must go up the stairs cross over the beams and then down anotherset of stairs, but it's also safe, far away from the feet of the people tryingto get to their trains. A second way is to go through the walls long ago, mice, tunnel, the passagewaythrough the walls from the entrance to the platform and then there's the thirdway which no mouse thinking clearly would ever take to get to the platform.A mouse must run across the open floor of the train station with so manypeople moving quickly pulling bags on wheels behind them. It's quitedangerous. Cynthia head towards the staircase upahead said Mister Short tail to his wife. No, that will take too long insisted.Mister woodle go for the passage way to the right dash looked at Hansa and shook her head.Missus shortall stopped abruptly and turned round boys. She said in a voice. Only mothersknow how to use that is enough. All of this back and forth has made us late. The staircase will take too long. Mister wodl smiled his nose stuck up inthe air. A little missus shortt continued and it looks like the passageway is not an option either. Mister will's smile transformed into a look ofconfusion, stacked in front of the entrance to the passageway, wereseveral large card board boxes now. Mister Short tail beamed, we're going through the station, explained missus shortall immediately. Mister widow and mistershortall began to protest, but missus shortall held up both her hands andneither of the mice continued missus, shortall turned to mister andMissus Brownfield. n't think it is a good idea for the little ones to gothis way. Simon Short tail interrupted. We are not ly at all. Missus Brown fur nodded in agreement. Ithink you are right. Cynthia, we'll have to say our good bye here, Hansa and dash gave each of the Brownfur children a hug, Olivia pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Dash. It was a drawing. There were many treesand a large mountain at the top and...

...right in the centre were two micesmiling and waving. Holding the hand of one of them was an even smaller mousesmiling WHO's. This asked Dash taking thepicture. That's me, can I come with you. Olivia asked Dash, gave Olivia another big hug, notthis time Dash Dore the drawing in her pack. Theysaid good bye to the Brown firs who returned to the staircase heading tothe underground. All right are we all ready, asked missus shortall every onenodded this way she said. Missus short tail picked up the pates alittle she jogged over to a large column and hid behind it. The othermice followed right behind her now. Do you see that big green signabove that passage over there? She asked every one, as she pointed towardsthe other side of the enormous station. All the mice nodded their heads between them and the passageway underthe big green sign, where thousands of pairs of shoes and rolling bags allgoing very quickly in different directions. It says departures, that's where we'regoing dash. You take hold of Martin's hand. Mister widdle, please stay nearto Miss Maggie. Every one keep your eyes looking left right and above youwe're going to go in pairs from column to column until we get there. Do youunderstand every one nodded nervously, okay, Jasper here we go yelled out, miss his short tail. Shedashed out into the crowd of moving feet, practically pulling her husbandbehind her. She was fast she darted from one open area to the next, turningquickly around brown shoes and turning wheels until they were safe near thenext column. Mister widdle and Miss Maggie went next. They weren't as fast as missus short tail, but when a big brown shoe nearlystepped on Miss Maggie's tail, Mister widdle was fast to pull her out of theway. Soon they joined the short tails. All right, we'll all go together, saidDash Martin, let go of his sister's hand.Fine, but I'm not holding your hand, Yack the dash scrunched up her eyebrowspursed, her lips and stared at Martin Martin's eyes doubled in size. Hequickly grabbed hold of his sister's hand. Again dashes scowl turned to asmile. Let's go. She said she pulled Martinbehind her and Hansa brought up the...

...rear. They were slowed down by theirpacks and so had to walk quickly, but not run Hans. Look out. Yelled MartinPansa turned to see a giant wheel from a man pulling his bag behind him comingstraight for him, Hansa dove to the ground and rolled out of the way as thebag passed by him safely. Thanks for that, Martin you've got good eyes, said:Hansa dusting himself off the three young mice joined the oldermice. Behind the second column, Great Said Dash Peering around the corner ofthe column. We've just got to do that. Seven more times all the mice took in a collective, deepbreath repeating the pattern from before theseven mice crossed the giant station floor, going from column to column, diving away from spinning wheels ducking down under stepping feet andturning around the items the people kept dropping like tissues and piecesof paper. Finally, they reached the giant greensign below the sign low down on the wall wasa set of double doors, much like the ones in the old clocktower. It seemed as though they hadn't been opened in a long while, as mistershort tail, had a pull very hard to get them unstuck. Finally, the mice passed through thedouble doors and into the ticketing area for mice. As the mice entered the room, they sawa long line of mice waiting at a ticketing booth. The mice in the lineturned and watched as seven mice came through the doors labelled station. The eyes of all the waiting mice grewlarge Hansa could hear people whispering amongst themselves, thoughhe couldn't figure out about what the mice joined the line and waited. So you guys came across the stationfloor e asked an old gray mouse in the line infront of them. Mister short tail puffed up his chestand nodded. Of course we did missage short tail just smiled thinlyand shook her head, the old gray mouse continued. I haven't seen any oneattempt that in years, not since the passage way was built, you must be somevery brave mice. All seven mice smiled at this. The lion continued to move forwarduntil Hansa and dash were the next ones in line. So what did you bring to trade? Hansaasked Mister widdle it'll have to be something good to get you all the wayacross town. Oh, don't worry about that. UNCLLEWalter started. Hanza. Mister Green...

...gave me the perfect trade Hansa unslung his pack and knelt downbeside it. Suddenly he jumped up into the air hisears perked straight up. His whiskers pointed straight to the sides and histail went stiff and straight back. What is it asked? Mister widow, our trade. I forgot it yesterday. I must have left it withMister Green. Oh No. What are we going to do? He asked out loud dash his mind raced. She didn't knowhow she could fix everything without the trade there's no ticket for youwithout the ticket. There's no taking the train said Mister widdle Hansaslumped down on to the floor. I don't know what to do. He said we could try and trade the food we'vepacked, but I'm sure it won't get us too far. Plus then we'd be starting. This journey without any food. Mister Short tail bent down and spoke. No that won't work. Plus it's going to take you months to get to yourgrandfather's cottage. You don't want to start that journey without food. What should we do then asked Hanza? You could always come back to the towerand try again to morrow suggested, Miss Maggie Hansa thought for a moment and thenlooked at dash to see what she thought dash nodded. Taking a deep breath,Hansa stood up and told every one, his decision, I'm sorry every one. It's my fault. Iforgot the trade you all came out here for nothing. None of the mice complained. However, since we're not in a hurry, we can takethe long way around this time we can go up the staircase and, across the beamssaid missus shortall as the mice headed for the staircase, their shouldershanging low, a loud voice called out behind them. Hey Hanza, where are you going? It wasMister Green Hansa turned around to see Mister Greenwalking through the passageway leading from the platform above his head. Hewas carrying an enormous slice of Apple Hansa ran over to him, Mister Green. What did you bring that? Wasn't the trade I forgot? Oh, Iknow, but that button wasn't going to be enough. I mean it would get youthere and all, but not comfortably. Do you know what I mean when I went to see Nellie this morning? She found this for me. Well for you really. This will get you there in themost comfortable cabin of the train.

Believe me Hansa, smiled at Mister, green and thena dash. Where is Nellie asked Ash. Oh, she decided she'd scare too many ofthe mice.
